Hello all from this Michigander. My 20 yr old Daughter just picked up another Cherokee after getting t-boned with her last one that she just bought last April. I am going to be helping her with this build and looking forward to a lot of help from this forum. We found her a pretty nice '89 Cherokee Pioneer.
Nice find! Looks to be in great condition for an '89, especially if it saw many winters of salted Michigan roads. I found my red '91 in Michigan but it spent most of its life in the South. I would suggest doing a detailed inspection of the underside and take care of whatever rust you find before winter. I have found Rust-Oleum Rust Reformer to be useful for addressing moderate surface rust.

Thanks!! It spent most of its life in Florida and Alabama. Was towed behind a motorhome for years and I think it was only in 4 Michigan winters. Definitely going to get it up on a hoist soon and do a good inspection and prep on it.
I actually found this one. I inquired about it a few days before her and I headed out to Moab. The owner said he had someone already coming to look at it after a few days in Moab he texted me saying he didn't sell it to the guy and he would rather have us get it. He said he didn't think the guy who looked at it was going to take care of it like it should be so he didn't sell it to him. So he held onto it until we got home and we went looked it over and bought it.

That is funny. When I get to the point where I think I should not be driving anymore I will want whomever buys it to do the same.
Mine is not as clean looking as that but she is in pretty good shape. It will play a big part in who I sell it to.
Or I will just soak some young buck for an outrageous amount of money for her. LOL.
