Default Hello from Kansas

Hello from Shawnee, Kansas, I'm a new member and have recently began a search for a late 80s-mid 90s Cherokee after a friend of mine bought a 93 and has been enjoying the hell out of it. I've owned a Buick Grand National for over 10 years and have always been a "car" guy mainly drag racing, but looking for something different.

I'm looking for a clean example that will be used as a second car and gradually be modified for more serous off road use, but not to crazy (few inch lift with some 31" tires) for now.

I haven't been able to find anything to exciting locally. I'm going to look at a rust free Arizona 1990 Cherokee tomorrow, but it's got 234,000 miles, body looks clean in the pics, but will need TLC. If your in KC or near and have or know of something please let me know.

Thanks,
Scott

Floor boards were pretty rusty on the 96, but picked up a really solid 99 with 140k today. Will post pics this weekend when I get all the salt and junk cleaned up. It's all stock(minus a light bar), but well maintained and cared for. I'm excited about my new toy and really looking forward to getting it ready for and hitting some trails.

EDIT: one pic from the dealers website. better pics to follow.
Scott

Cool, Thanks! I've got to do a few minor things for now (what do you know about a non consistent miss/ spit at idle?)

start with a good tune up... see if it clears up.. good idea anyway on a used vehicle with no maintenance history

Like jack said, I would go through and do plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Not like it would hurt anything

I will do that. I'm planning on changing all the fluids, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and ignition coil in the next few weeks.
Thanks

EDIT: only could get one decent photo. Planing on changing wheels/ tires and a 2" lift asap.

Plugs, cap, rotor and ignition coil (plug wires are in the mail) and she's purring like a kitten. Removed the faded door moldings tonight and working on cleaning up the adhesive.

Checking in from Wyandotte Ks. I'm in need of a trustworthy local mechanic/shop. Been having issues w/95 zj ever since I bought it. I'm about 3500 in it and really don't want to junk it or take minimal for a trade in. Please help

I removed the door strips and added a coat of wax. I'm gathering parts to start a 3" lift.
