Hi everyone from Texas
First post. I wanted to reach out to everyone about what they look for when buying a jeep from a private party. A guy down the road has put up for sale an 01 2wd black cherokee 60th anniversary edition. Pretty much got my heart set on it. I used to drive a 94 cherokee laredo and i want to get back in a jeep. Only flag i have up on the vehicle has 225k on it. I know the engine is pretty legendary but things are finite. He's asking $2500. Would like to hear your thoughts on the model/mileage. Deal? No deal? Thanks everyone!

Welcome to the forum. The 2000/2001 engines had heads that were susceptible to cracking.
Just keep that in mind, don't be afraid to tackle the job though, not that hard to do.
If u are fine with it being 2wd then go for it.

As was said above, read up on the 0331 head crack and make sure you can spot the signs of it and are comfortable with what you'll need to do if it has a cracked head.
So the Cherokee had 234k on it, stiff brakes, a little rust on the body, faded paint on the hood, after market rear bumper and no license plates included. He had it for 4 months and "needs the cash." For the amount he was asking I agree robertj, I feel my patients can continue wait.
