Default First Jeep

I picked this up today, iv always wanted one, its a 1998 Cherokee Classic. 88K on it and i paid $3000. i took it for a little test run today and all seems well.

i have one issue with the door locks if anybody can help me out. everything is power but the locks, they are manual. Now they are in the "locked position" but the doors open from the inside and outside, you cant budge them either. i tried locking them from the outside with the key, and it feels like you turn the key to lock, the lock moves and pushes the key right back. any ideas?

heres a few pics too

Welcome from Oregon. Sorry never heard of that lock problem before. Unless there is a safety anti-lock system somewhere.LOL . My cherokee has tabs on the inside of the rear doors that can by manually moved back into an always locked or a controllable from driver door position, but i have the electric op locks and windows.

X2 child safety lock tabs on rear (So they can't be unlocked from inside) Otherwise power locks, controllable from driver side.

Welcome, I too have a 98 and look forward to getting to know it. Looks like you already baptized it in the mud.
