Well, I'm not sure why I never registered before now. Just lazy, I guess. I've owned my XJ for over seven years. It's been a great Jeep.

'98 Cherokee Classic, 6" lift, T&T Long arm kit, 35" MT/R's, Super 30 w/ ARB front, D44 with ARB rear, Atlas II, winch, York OBA, the usual add-ons and goodies.

Nice! Welcome. I'll be running 35's by the summertime hopefully. Slip yoke eliminator or anything like that? custom drive shafts?

Thanks. SYE not required with Atlas transfer case. I believe both driveshafts had to be slightly altered, but I don't really remember. That was a long time ago, and my memory's not what it used to be.

Well, here are a few pics taken during installation... not sure I have taken any since...

The shifters are a bit out of focus in this one, but you get the idea...

The underside shots are from back in 2005 when the long-arm kit and the Atlas were installed; it was all brand new back then. It's not so shiny any more -- at least on the outside. The interior shot is very recent -- this is the family 'wheeling wagon, so we try to keep the interior of this one clean. The CJ is a different story entirely, but that's for another forum.

Yeah, I've been on NAXJA for years but just realized that I've only been lurking as a visitor here. No idea why...

So that you can engage the front and rear separately; allows for front wheel drive or 2WD LO. Very handy certain occasions.

Thanks! I've been pretty happy with the location; it's very convenient. If you haven't done so already, check out OTRATTW, the source for the laser-etched rockers for the switches.

I was just checking out Atlas' site, and wow. I got a lot of learning to do if I wanted to order one of those from them. The more I get into this jeep thing the less I like my 242 due to compatibility issues.

Thanks.

So you work for 1A Auto Parts, huh? Good to know... Just added you to my address book. Those of us with Jeeps can't have too many contacts in the parts business.

I can't recommend the Atlas highly enough. I have one in my XJ and one in my CJ. They take a pounding and never complain; I've never had a single issue with either of them. I wouldn't 'wheel without one!
