Cheers from the Boston area!
Hey folks. I felt winter sneaking up and I don't think my '72 Triumph Spitfire would do very well in the snow! I did some searching locally, found a '97 XJ 2-door 5-speed with 60k on it, but it was amazingly rusty for its miles and I decided that the 2-doors aren't for me. Found a gunmetal pearl '99 XJ 4-door 5-speed in Brockton, gave it a good lookover and test drive, and promptly snatched it up.
Back in high school a few of my friends had older XJs and at least one of my brothers had a Wrangler at any given time, so I've always been around Jeeps. I also had a rather memorable regular customer who had over 350k on his, and the most work I ever had to do to it was replace a transmission cooler line that got ripped open by road debris.
Anyway, I haven't even gotten the car home yet (delivered to a family member's house), just waiting for that RMV-1 form to get back from my insurance company so I can go get plates and get it home!

Hi and welcome from England, looks good. Just a tad different from the spitfire, don't suppose that's yellow?
See a couple around here and the Gt6, nice.
Lets hope for snow!

As for the XJ, It won't be clean for long! I'm window shopping for lighter rims and larger tires, as well as a modest lift. I'm considering the spacers/shackle extentions route, as I'm not a big fan of the AAL method.
There's some rust in the rear rockers that will be the first thing I take care of.
