98 XJ Owner From Oregon
My wife bought the jeep in college from the original owner in '98. I inherited it when we got a new car/baby hauler for her. I love the XJ even more than the TJ I used to have. It has 146k on the odo and the only major repair was a blown head gasket about 4 years ago.
The thing runs great still and seems to have more power now than it did ten years ago. It is basically stock with a home built bumper (bought off Craigslist) and air intake. I want to do a small 2" lift and some other mods myself over the next few years.
I've come here to soak up some wisdom and learn from other peoples mistakes. If you have any advice on what/how to move forward with this long term project, especially for someone that is teaching himself a little shade tree mechanics, please feel free.
