Hi, i'm thinking of buying a jeep. It has high miles but seems to runs strong, no obvious problems. The seller wants $1,900 no warranty. It has a slight manifold leak but sounds pretty good and passed smog this month. All systems work well. Kinda bouncy when I push on the bumper and sloshy turns. Is there something I should be looking for or wary of on a jeep cherokee with this many miles?

Welcome from the UK if its bouncy when you push the front end down the shocks will be shot it should only bounce one and stop.Has it got a service history with it has it been maintained if it aint milage is to high i would look for somthing with less on and looked after.

 

Welcome to CF! X2 on the shocks. Since it passed the smog test it must run fairly good. That's not too bad on the miles. Any rust underneath, or musty smell inside?

Hi again. Jeep does not have any musty smells. What should I expect with tranny or engine? You say the mileage aint too bad...what can I expect from a jeep as far as mileage?
