Default 1st timer-I'm HOOKED!

bought my first Jeep this weekend, always wanted one(bucket list) and finally found a really nice factory stock '93 Cherokee Sport 4x4 for an awesome deal! Engine, tranny, trans case, brakes are all functioning great(no leaks). I have yet to name her, but I have already fallen head over heels for her, despite her age and needs(she's got a few, as all females do). I'm an old muscle car guy, currently own a couple of vettes(old ones, you know the ones that just need fuel, spark and compression to run) I've given her a shakedown run and determined that she does overheat at low wheel'n speeds(but not on the highway) and the a/c does not work but is all there.
I'm going to go buy a repair manual, any suggestions chiltons, clymer, etc? I'm pretty handy wrench'n on old stuff, really have not worked on alot of vehicles with sensors(seems the jeep has alot of 'em). Gonna read up and lurk in the posts reverheating and a/c and hopefully not have to pester anyone on topics that have been discussed numerous times. I just want to say that one drive offroad, and I understand the mantra "its a JEEP thing", because I'M NOT ONLY HOOKED, I'M Addicted! Lord help me....

Welcome to the forum. Jeeps are quite addicting and even with the sensors fairly easy to work on once you learn the tricks to them.

Welcome.. I went with a Haynes manual from the local truck stop.. It seems so far to be nice and easy to read.. Yes, Cherokees are addicting, ain't they? Lexie, (My 2000 factory stock Cherokee sport) says "Hi" to her older sister. You shall soon find that yours, whatever you decide to name her, has a very distinctive personality. Oh, before I go, I'll give you Lexie's opinion on a name. "Desert Rose", or "Rose", for short? Just my two cents worth, take it or leave it. & happy trails.

Hey Chuck1225 thats a great suggestion as she will be used on deer leases in Tx Hill Country and West Tx., which is essentially desert land, and after doing some research, the Jeep originally came from Arizona, so Desert Rose it is! I could not sleep the first night I bought her, just thinking about fixing her up, I'm going to put a camo wrap on her(she's white) as soon as the mechanicals are done, will probably incorporate some cactus with blooms(desert rose) into the graphics design. I have two friends that own sign shops and I'm gonna call in some favors soon.
Thanks!
