I've been running these cables for a few months now, and they've been great! Do you have any recommendations for battery terminal covers that will fit these terminals? I hate to leave them uncovered, especially the positive side.

Well, I finally got my cables installed. Here are my results and comments.

The short:
As others have noted, the cables are excellent quality, Neal provides excellent customer service and I'm extremely happy with everything.

The long:

So I had been on the fence about doing the battery cable upgrade for a while - I hadn't had any issues with starting or charging, but my cables were definitely in rough shape. I took my Jeep in to the local Jeep shop for a general inspection and one of the things they noted was the negative cable was loose. Since it was early December and the Jeep shop had noted the cable was problematic, I decided it was time to do the cable upgrade as a Christmas present to myself. I went with the 4 gauge since I'm running a stock setup and have no plans for any high draw accessories.
I ordered the cables and they arrived pretty quickly and well packaged.
With all the holiday stuff, I didn't get a chance to seriously consider the installation for some time and as I looked into it I noticed a post from a while back regarding extra cost for a double terminal used on my 95. I lamented not realizing this, but wouldn't you know it, Neal had included the double terminal in my set without me even asking for it! Nice! (I totally would have paid extra for the more expensive terminal.)

As part of the preparation, I downloaded the picture that Neal drew up of how the new cables are installed. I found this to be very helpful as I'd never really considered where and what the cable locations are and had never done a cable replacement before.

So I went about doing the install. The negative cables were very easy and everything went on nicely. I did have a bit of trouble with the grounding strap due to the awkward mounting point at the back of the head. When I do a valve cover replacement in the near future, I plan on relocating the block end to a more accessible location.
I didn't have time to do the positive side so I put it off until later. I had noticed the starter terminals use a plastic piece with both the battery and solenoid wires and being overly cautious, I asked Neal and he mentioned that most folks cut the small wire and put a ring terminal on it.

When I finally got to the positive cables, I ended up finding the easiest solution to the starter side was to cut the old positive cable (the big one) at the plastic block and I literally just reinstalled it over the new starter to battery cable. The connection to the PDC was as mentioned in multiple posts in this thread, the little cover needs to be trimmed to deal with the extra wire coming off. I haven't done this yet but it should be short work with the dremel.
I ended up taping off the old alternator wire and using a zip tie to secure it out of the way. Neal said that taping it off would be fine or I could remove the old wire. I didn't want to dig into the gigantic mess of wires taped together that it comes out of, so taping it off worked for me.

One thing that I hadn't expected and don't recall seeing mentioned is that I did have to remove the small plastic housing part on my alternator. The new cable is just a hair too big to fit without trimming the new cable terminal or the plastic housing. It came right off via a second small nut on the main post, but I worried that the terminal was exposed and that it's awful close to the alternator housing which is connected by metal parts to the grounded body. I ended up finding a small piece of rubber that I punched a hole in the center and slid on the alternator terminal.
Once the rubber piece was on, then I put one nut on the post, then the cable, then the second nut.
I hit the hardware store afterwards and got a few nylon washer/spacers and some rubber washers and intend to use those to more properly isolate the cable from any possible contact with the body of the alternator. I may possibly modify the plastic housing piece.

I had expected to have trouble determining which cable went to where, but it was super intuitive and there really was no guessing - each cable is either obviously the correct one due to the length, or the terminals on one end or the other are specific to the location.

Everything's working great with the new cables and I can definitely see an improvement in the headlight power and interior lights as well as have had nice strong starts, even in the ever colder days we've been having here in New England.

The military style terminals are awesome - they are nice and tight and easy to remove and reconnect. They are vastly superior to the wimpy and cheap seeming terminals that were on the Jeep prior to the upgrade.

Again, superior quality cables, beautiful workmanship and Neal was quick to provide support and answer questions after the sale. I would definitely recommend this upgrade to any XJ owner or anyone who wants a quality set of cables on their vehicle.
