Hello all, i have another ""bright idea"" that im sure wont work, but i thought i would pose the question.
The RKE board from a ZJ can't work in an XJ, can it? say, i go to the boneyard and pull a paired fob and board from a ZJ and swap it for the board in my XJ?
Id have a feeling the computers dont talk the same to each other, like how they say a ZJ overhead console acts if you try and hook it up in an XJ.
Barring that, is there a DEFINITIVE list of which FCC numbers or part ID numbers work on XJs? you can look online and all kinds of sellers sell different ones and swear theirs is the one that works.
I ust hate to spend money on a fob, then pay the stealership money to pair them ust for him to say "well this doesn't work" (hence the hairbrained scheme of the ZJ swap)
