Default RKE Options

Hi! Got a question. I recently purchased a 99 XJ that has RKE, but no remotes. The dealership REALLY likes the replacements and thier time to reprogram them. I was looking at the wiring diagram and found that they have lock and unlock circuits. Would it be possible to wire an aftermarket keyless unit in the XJ? It is $50 vs $200. Anyone else do this? Any advice?

Mine has rke from the factory and my xj came with one fob. I bought a new/extra fob off eBay for cheap, but it cost $75 for the dealership to program it.....

Yeah, that is what I am trying to get away from. Hoping that someone else has done this and can offer some insight. If not, I may give it a try. Famous last words...Whats the worst that could happen? Lol
