Xj steering upgrade
Ok i got a 89 jeep cherokee i am running 6.5 inch lift with 33 inch tires. Want to upgrade the steering and brakes but dont know what to do, i have seen post on the wj parts but does anyone have pic to show what it looks like when it on the jeep. Also is there a way to put disc brakes on a d35 axle.

So many different steering upgrades you can do, if you search youll find tons of threads on this, as well as your questions about the brakes. Personally I wouldnt waste putting any money into a D35. Invest in a better axle first...an 8.8 is cheap and has disc's already. You go much bigger with your tires and you wont have that d35 for long.

Used zj tie rod and new TRE's $60
Goferit tie rod flip taper $20
Used Durango steering box $60
JCR steering box spacer $34
Total $170. That's the setup I'm running for 33's
A step above that setup would be serious, JCR, or ruffstuff steering setups
Even higher above that is a WJ knuckle swap which runs around $800
