Engine: Mercedes OM617
XJ Dash-Heater Swap
I have a 96 XJ that I have powered by a Mercedes OM617 ( 5 cyl turbo ). All of my air conditioner components under the hood are gone and I have no intention of ever installing them. I do have a 86 MJ parts truck with a mint dash that I can use as a donor. NO air. Does anyone know if I can use a dash and heater housing, controls from an 86 and install it in my 96.I know that in 87 they moved the firewall back to accommodate the longer 4.0 but I don’t know if I can swap out the dash and the heater. ThanksDan
