It is slightly narrower. roughly 5/8 of an inch on each side. Brake lines are pretty standard... just what ever rear axle line you use.. hooks to the calipers like normal. It is best to get a complete rear axle with clipers and rotors intact. you can always turn the rotors down. aslo grab the companion flange on the drive shaft.
Depending on which axle swap kit you chose depends on how much work it wil be. I personally like using U-bolt eliminators. so look into them a lil bit more work upfront but less long run.

ok sweet so sum wheel spacers in the back to make up the diffrence of it being a little shorter and hook the brake lines up to the calipers in the rear. what about the front. will the stock dana 30 hold those 33's? meening are they srong enough?

With some ABS shafts with spicer 760X joints in them.. they "SHOULd" hold up if you drive and offroad within reason. By this I mean dont get the tires bound up and stand on the throttle, or try and climb a undercut.... for the most part it will hold up fine.

The best 8.8 to get is from a 96 up explorer for the spring perches and shock mounts http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/...g/88SS-31.html
