Wiring upgrade for HID's
I've read about the wiring harness upgrade for our headlights. Does this help with HID's too? If so, is it worth the money?

the wiring upgrade for HIDs isnt for brightness, its for getting a true 12v to the ballast for firing the ballast and preventing damage, your ballast wont last with the stock wiring, it may work for a while but not its total life span

And, since HIDs are native high voltage (that's what the "ballast box" is there for - it's a step-up transformer,) and the ballast is usually mounted near the lamp proper, voltage drop due to conductor losses isn't much of a problem. What's the lead length from the ballast - about a foot?

This might be a little off topic, but do you know if the rectangular hella e code housings are good for HID's? Or do they spread light everywhere like cheap housings do?

Sharp cutoff, solid beam, no complaints. Even the Hella "Vision Plus" (DoT-approved) housings are miles better than the cheap housings and sealed beam lamps - but that's because it's a "permanent" lense, and more work can therefore be put into it...
