It comes with the winch I do believe. Looks like after researching on the website I may have scrweed up....they have horrible ratings...hopefully I don't have any issues with them. Fingers crossed.

That winch looks EXACTLY like the Harbor freight one.

I got mine the other day and installed it.

Prior to installation I dismantled the relay box. I removed each screw one at a time and put a dab of blue lock tite on it.

I'm glad I did, a few of the mounting screws were rather loose.

So far I am a happy camper with it though. It looks good, seems well built and I found that a vast majority of the reviews are great.

I bet you that IF I have a failure it will be the relay box. If that happens I will purchase the warn style with the 4 separate solenoids and use that instead.

The solenoid pack in the HF winch looks small and I can see it being the part that gets very hot if you do not follow their duty cycle recommendations.

I could be completely wrong about the solenoid pack though. Time will tell.

What website? 100% on Amazon, page after page of positive reviews on Jeep Forum/pirate... great results in multiple "shootouts"... You will be happy with the Engo man... Only I people I have seen complain about them are the people who spend 1200$ on a warn and complain about everything under them.

The exterior is the same as the HF/milemarker/quadratec/old smittybuilt/ every other made in China winch. The interiors are made in several different factories- that is why they have different pull speeds, warranty etc.

No not the winch. The winch has great reviews. I am talking about the website that I ordered the winch from

http://4wheelonline.com/ENGO_E-Winch....173719.641858

Google 4wheelonline reviews...You will see what I am talking about. Wish I would have read the reviews before I ordered. None the less, I can always do a chargeback if they never send it...Have to pay to do it, but still.

Always pay PayPal! So easy to get your money back. If its something expensive, Ill buy it somewhere else if a place doesn't have PayPal.

I got a great deal on two Engos (bought one for my gramps TJ) from AOR on the forum and even ended up with a free set of d-ring isolators some how..

I have ordered from them years ago- 4wheelonline- and got my stuff. Hopefully you do as well!

Yeah, they don't have paypal, but it was 70-100 cheaper than everywhere else. I have never had any issues ordering from a small online shop, so hopefully I won't have any issues.

...but you can find the 12000 HF winch for $300 most of the time so that would seem like a no-brainer as those things get GREAT reviews. It was actually on sale for a bit under $300 around Xmas. I opted for the 9 ($240 w/20% coupon) because it was smaller & lighter...and weight matters. Also, a 12 that's double blocked might be capable of pulling harder than the vehicle's structure can handle. The winch is bolted to the bumper which is bolted to the front subframe which is made of sheet metal.

The only thing I could see about the HF winch is that it was SLOOOOOW. That is the reason I didn't go for it.

That's one of the reasons I went with it.

IMO more gear reduction = less amp draw and more control.

I have had the 12k Harbor Freight winch for a little over a year now. I have been buried to the floor pans a couple times and gotten out no problem, one of which was only a single line pull. The winch has far exceeded my expectations

Dang, I wish I would have saw that thread before I had placed my order. I did get my tracking number last night without me requesting it, so that was good. It will be here Monday. I had debated on the HF winch, only thing was it didn't come with the synthetic line, or fair lead for the synthetic line, and lots said it was slow. Granted the Engo is probably going to be slow as well, but lifetime warranty on their internals. They say working with Engo is great, but we will see!
