Default Winch Bumper Painting??

To all the guys that have ordered their winch bumpers just raw steel and decided to paint them, my question to you is this.......

First--Is it fairly easy to do for someone that has never done anything like painting a bumper i.e. myself?

Sencond--How much is involved. Just primer then color?

Third--How long (typically) does the paint last before it starts to chip (excluding beating the hell out of it on the trail)?

Fourth--I want to go this route to save money. Im concerned about how it will turn out, i dont want it to turn out s****y but i do have faith that i could do a good job.

Spray on bed liner scratches off. I can tell you that. Might have to sack up and try that roll on stuff.
