Default will it work??

I have a 98 XJ that im going to put a rc 4.5 kit w/full pack leafs. But im also thinking of doing a 1.75" spacer kit on top of the 4.5. My question is. If the whole kit in general will work. Eg, will the shocks be long enough, will the fixed LCA work fine, how will flex be? Looking for advise. Thanks.

I think you'll need longer control arms or they sell kits to fix that

At anything over 4" I think Long arms are necessary. Or you can do Drop brackets. Definitely need SYE.

im kinda confused here. do you already have the 4.5 rc lift? you say your gonna put it on so i assume no.

if you are gonna buy a 4.5 inch lift and 1.75 spacers and shackles, why not save some money and issues, and buy the rc 6.5 inch lift for $100 bucks more?

and if you are looking at buying the cheaper 4.5 kit with only lowers, its not gonna work for ya. you will need adj uppers and lowers, adj track bar, extended brake lines, track bar drop brkt, dropped pitman arm, and maybe even more.

you dont have to do long arms for 6.5'', but i recomend it if you drive it every day.

if you run spacer lift on top of your 4.5, the shocks will not be long enough and you will lose droop....wont flex for crap.

Ok so what if I wanted to go from a RC 3" AND add a 1inch spacer and 1.5" shackle. Would I need adjustable uppers or lower CA? Even if I jumped a bit and went 1.5" spacer and 2" shackles?

I;ve got 3in springs and a 2in spacer on fixed lowers and stock uppers rides like crap on the street but it works. you will need longer lowers so your caster is not all out of wack along with longer shocks

Ok so I need adjustable uppers and lowers for best results without a longarm system? I've heard the RC 9000 SHOCKS I RUN WILL Be ok up to 5". Then I got bpes on a 1" spacer for my rear shocks welded on so my rears should be ok

thats cause you are used to it. i have also ran 10 inch lift with short arms and drop brkt and thought it rode good, that is until i went to long arms. your ca angles are nowhere close to parallel with the ground.....i can assure that.

true...to an extent.....mine will ride better than stock with 7.5 inches of lift. (my springs and shocks were shot)

op....if you are looking for a cheap, decent lift, then i would go with this one http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_4x.html.

it has every thing you will need to run a 4.5 inch lift and still have good street manners. you can fit 35's with trimming.
