Yes, I think it should. Assuming of course that they actually send you a Durango box and not a Jeep box that someone else replaced and returned to them. Of course, if it's the Jeep box then you know it will fit!

I did the same thing only got mine from Rockauto.

Made a huge difference, but then, I had a dead zone between 10 and 2 on my steering at the time.

Good luck with your swap!

never noticed a difference with my durango box. If your stock box ain't broke don't try to fix it

It is, its leaking and causing my steering wheel to be very loose and hard to keep straight driving down the hwy at times, thats why I figured I need a new one anyway might as well replace it with a upgrade

suit yourself. I'd rather get another stock box. losing turning radius on a reman box seems to be so hit or miss. my turning radius sucked!

I dont mean to piggy back this thread, but my OEM xj box leaked all the fluid out from an accident I had. A buddy told me to get a new seal where the gear comes out and connects to the pitman arm and that should fix it? Another buddy gave me an xj box but not sure it wont leak. I know the 99 Durango 4x4 box w/o tow is the one I need for a direct swap, but at $190 from O'reilly plus $118 for the core I am not sure spending over $300 is what I should do?

Give the xj box a try if its available to you for free or close to free if it leaks it leaks, then id get the new box. Youll get your money back once you return the old one and if its already out just take it in with you then you wont have to shell out for the core cost at all

But wont I have to turn in a durango steering box core to buy a durango steering box?
