I recently got a base model 1995 XJ cherokee and i love it! Only thing is it has the really basic dash so it only has a fuel gauge and speedo. I was wondering if its common and/or easy to swap over one from a 99-01 cherokee so i can have speedo/tach/ water temp/ oil pressure/ and volt gauge?

 

You will need a full cluster from a 91-95. Will be plug-n-play.

It is a ton if work to get the newer 97+ style in your 95. A full cluster from 91-96 should work for you. Just plug it in. You will also need new coolant temp and oil sender.
