I'm replacing my radiator and I'm having a problem getting the old one out. My cherokee is a 98 and it has the original radiator in it. I have everything disconnected except for the lower hose on the driver side. I got the nut off and the hose starts to come out but then stops. Whats keeping this hose from coming all the way out?

Did you pull the hose clamp all the way off the fitting? Sometime its just a matter of giving it some muscle. The hose will form to the fitting over time. You could try to squirt some wd40 in there.

Sorry I thought you were talking about the lower coolant hose. I believe the one you're talking about needs a quick disconnect tool. I haven't done it, but from what I've read you need a 3/8" Ford fuel line disconnect tool that you can get from most autoparts stores. I'm guessing it works like this video??
Someone can correct me if I'm totally wrong. Like I said, I haven't had to do this myself.

That is not the quick disconnect spot. That part is made into the radiator. It does not come out.
The QD spot is the crimped on fitting in the hose. The hard line remains attached to the radiator. Also, that is the Transmission cooler hose, not the radiator hose.
Put the nut back on and get a fuel line/transmission line QD tool. It is a ring with a flange that goes around the hardline and slides under the "fingers" that hold the hard line to the soft line to disconnect them. I believe it is the 3/8" tool that works for this.
I just cut the hard line coming out of the radiator and pulled it out. It was much easier getting the QD tool on the line and getting it disconnected with the radiator out.

the plastic disconnect tools are okay. I've got a set and have used them but ended up buying the set made of metal. The plastic ones "gave up the ghost" when I swapped out the A/C condenser last summer. The set made of metal are only a few bucks more and have a small handle on them. Give it a blast of "knock 'er loose" and let it soak a bit. The assembly should come apart okay.
