White Guages & LEDs...
Ive done some research but cant find a guage setup like the one im after for the 97+ model XJs. Lookin to do the white faced guages, blue LEDs behind em, & a chrome/aluminum bezel to top it off. Would love to get some pics of someone whos done this on the newer models along with some tech tips!!
All this stuff is easy to get, but im after someone whos done this & can give feedback:
White guages: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1997-2001-Je...10884685294838
Stainless bezel: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Cheroke...item2315bd6bbe
LEDs: http://www.autolumination.com/
Thanks!!

I'm in the process of doing the same w/o the LEDs. Might take a while to get done at the moment. There are pix out there on naxja and jeepforum. The bezels are nice but will be finding my own way to mount it to the dash

Read my thread again; i said on a 1997+ model XJ!! Im well aware of go jeep & had that same setup on my 95. If ur still confused then do a search & ull find that the 1997 thru 2001 XJ interiors are DIFFERENT!!

I can't say from experience but I have a buddy who did the white face with blue back and after a while he's gotten sick of it. Even with the dimmer turned down a fair bit, they are just too bright for the cabin at night. Just my two cents.

Maybe try using the light "condoms" in blue would solve this. Incase anyones wondering, the light condoms are colored covers that slip over the bulbs to make them whatever color u choose.

The white faces look really cool...i might do this once you tell us how hard it was..lol..I was looking close at the Ebay ones in your link and it looks like each gauge face is two pieces to go on without removing the needle..Could be a little tricky lining them up.Can wait to here how you make out with the install

I think they would look sweet. Im more of a red gauges kinda person myself. I ran blue on the firebird but they got old quick and were too bright. Swapped to red ones and they are a bit easier on the eyes. Too bad the EL wire wont work on the 97 and up interiors, well I guess you could run it under the stainless bezel. I did the EL wire on the xj and it seemed the perfect brightness to me.

If you put LEDs in be prepared to not have a real vibrant color. The gauges are green because of the film attached to the back of the gauge panel that the light shines through and it will distort the color of the LEDs. I put LEDs in my Subaru I had a while back and ran into that. I was able to sand the stuff off the gauges which made them look way better, but then there were very annoying bright and dim spots.
