Mine is mounted in between the battery and the PDC fuse block on my 97. There is a tee in the vaccum line right there, makes it easy to hook up. Will not work if you have cruise control.

My egg turned into a grapefruit that now sits on the pass firewall where my pressure bottle was.

Question

This piece is missing from my son's XJ. What does it do, and can I get away without it? Currently line is plugged.

What year BTW?

Stores vacuum to operate the climate controls and cruise control.

If you leave it off, The heat and AC will blow out only the defrosters on a hard pull up hill.

Like a lot of XJer's, I relocated mine to the area in front of the blower motor. I don't have ABS so my window washer res is on the drivers side, so I have plenty of room on the passenger side.
