Back spaceing is built into the wheel, so a tire shop could sell you wheels witht he propper back spacing. I would run 4-4.5" with that setup. look threw builds to get a better idea. tons of posts/pics of them.

^I run the same tires.
Wheels:
300c, Challenger, Magnum (LX Platform) 17x7" stock steel.
Some sources say 5x4.5 others list them 5x115. That is 0.02" difference if it is 5x115, so run these at your own risk!!!
71.5mm center bore. Seats PERFECTLY on the hub, better than the Cragars I have.
4", maybe 4.5" backspacing.
Tire:
255/75r17 BFG Mud Terrain (measure 32-1/4", similiar to some 33s)
More pictures of other guys running magnums here:

Ouch.
no rubbing/touching anything, well, other than hockey pucks hitting snubber.

Lotta rubbing @ 3.5 with 17x33 huh,,, yeah I just put new bumpers on mine too... maybe I am sticking with the smaller setup, I hate rubbing, my firebird does it enough for both vehicles
I love the white bumpers you have though, custom? or did you buy them and powdercoat white....
My jeep started as a classic and i almost went the white bumper route... kinda wish I had now... do you have some more pics of front and back?

Also if aluminum is so weak why do 99% of KOH racers, 100% of WRC and ALMS teams use it? I ran my last jeep with Champion aluminum beadlocks from Moab to the Rubicon and 10 years of daily driving without a single problem. Buy quality and there will not be a problem.

Just the pics on my page, nothing else though. I sprayed the bumpers with white Raptor bedliner. They turned out pretty good, but could use a few more coats.

As for WRC, KOH Etc... using aluminum rims = even though its a bit weaker, its 1/2 the weight which for racing purposes matters for them.... the strength to weight ratio is enough for most of them even with the jumps and stuff.... plus they can afford alot more rims if they destroy them...

Us on the other hand like the additional durability and the weights not a concern for most of us...
32x11.50 Kumho KL71's on 15x8 Cragar soft 8's (4 or 3.75" BS) next to previous, and pretty beat, 235/75/16 Toyo Open Country A/T on 16x7 American Racing D-Window's (4" BS). Outside upgraded brake caliper/rotor clearance, I can't see why anyone would want 17's; tires just cost more.

Well if someone had adapters and finds some stock jk take offs then I'd run 17's. I bought a set of 5 rims and tires off someone upgrading their jk for 200 bucks. 5 bfg mud terrains with 17" rims?! Couldn't pass that up
thanks Skunkape
Thats where I'm at.
Lots of people are taking brand new 255/75r17s off of JK Rubicons right now.
I got $410 into 6 tires, half the tires still have the little nubs they're so new.
That includes the cost of 6 dodge magnum wheels and mounting & balancing.
Adapters work with the JK alloys (and look really damn good IMHO), but you can get the magnum steel wheels a lot cheaper.

My point is, my rolling height measures the same as dogger up there, but with a 9.5" tire on a 7" wheel, and tight backspacing, you can keep the stock flares.
I'm not sayin his is a bad setup, just here in PA I'd get pulled over daily for that.
Stock hp30 and 8.25 with 4.10s and some little things like boxed CA mounts, riddler cover, 760 joints, trimmed the fat lip off the bottom of the 8.25...
Now this isn't an OEM bearing, it's a Timken OEM replacement, but still... go look at how cragars fit the hub, they ain't this good.
