Cool Wheel and Tire Pictures + Descriptions

I'm trying to get a good idea of some excellent wheel and tire choices?
Currently I've been looking at AEV's Pintlers but cannot decide on a tire.....

I want to see whats out there and what your jeeps shoes are?
Wheel and Tire Names + Any pictures would be excellent...

Only fitting I post my current setup...
31x10.50 Mickey Thompson MTZ's
15" Believed to be US Wheel 37 Series 5x4.5BS

I'm looking to upgrade to a 17" Rim + 33x10/12.50 Tire what ever fits well with some decent flex

Why "upgrade" to a 17? The wheels cost more, 17" tires cost more, less sidewall means less sidewall flex and they don't look good imo. More money for poor performance and look. You kind of have a white/black theme going on, which I like. If I were you I'd paint your wheels black and put some 33s of your choice on there. What do you do with it mostly? My buddy loves his 33x10.50 km2s.

Was actually only looking at 17's cause my local shop has the AEV Pintler in Grey & Yellow, its jeep specific only and they said their was better tire combos with toyo mt, at, etc...., upon research i find this not to be so true...
I still like the rim & tire cost isn't too much of a concern, but what are my adverse affects as far as driveability and inability to handle offroad conditions while mounted on a cherokee?? Your 35" KM2's look sick !
Anyone have pics of their cherokee on 17's? Would help me decide if their too large and obnoxious, talk me into staying with a 15"

I want to keep a 10.50 wide so that way I'm kind narrow for traction/control in the snow, my 31' MTZ's are fantastic year round but compound is a little soft and wears too fast for how much $$$ the tire is.

The Jeep is mainly driven on forest service road and pavement with and without lots of snow & ice, occasionally do a bit of crawling+super rocky trails now I have some protection underneath but I try to stay out of sludge. I guess this is where I would want some sidewall protection etc. Any Thoughts? Currently have you suggestion KM2 & Toyo Open Country MT & Dick Cepek's on the list but need to decide on a rim choice....

Didnt realize the KM2's came in a 10.50, before the MTZ's I had BF AT 31x10.50 loved em but not big enough? KM2's added to list.
Cheers

unfortunately I cannot get on FB to get a pic from my GF. She has a 01 white XJ 4 door, 3.5" with 17" Shara wheels with the stock 32" on it. looks nice but does have a little rubbing with stock flares and inner fenders.

oh heres what one I found that looks like hers but blue and rubi wheels instead of sahara's

^I run the same tires.

Wheels:
300c, Challenger, Magnum (LX Platform) 17x7" stock steel.
Some sources say 5x4.5 others list them 5x115. That is 0.02" difference if it is 5x115, so run these at your own risk!!!
71.5mm center bore. Seats PERFECTLY on the hub, better than the Cragars I have.
4", maybe 4.5" backspacing.

Tire:
255/75r17 BFG Mud Terrain (measure 32-1/4", similiar to some 33s)

More pictures of other guys running magnums here:

IMO if you do a fair amount of street driving then the 17" will provide a better performance in regards to handling. The only time you'll really "suffer" is when you're trying to do some technical off roading that would require you to air down. I ran 16"x 8" wheels and really enjoyed the balance between off road and on road driving.

15in wheel is all you need for normal daily driving. if you wanna road race your xj on a curvy road then no tire is gonna help that lol.

as far as tires go, i preffer a 12.50 width tire cause it offers more traction because of the wider footprint.

and for the best weekend warrior tire... Hankook Dynapro M/T ive driven mine 30,000 miles and im just past 50%tread life. they still rock on the trails and they are quiet and capable on the back roads i live on. plus great on gravel which i drive everyday.

I LOVE the magnum steel wheels! Do the jeep center caps need to be modified to fit them?

subd.

I hear you on width. It works good for sand, and rocks. I wish I drove on the beach more, but I don't so I decided on pizza cutters.
I do fairly typical east coast jeeping, driving 2 hours to go trail riding, driving 2, 3, 5 hours in snow to go snowboarding, and commuting daily. The skinny/tall tire works decent, and at only 67lbs per corner, they're relatively light for a measured 32" tire, without using expensive aluminum wheels.

Here you go, 255 75 BFG's on 17x8.5 Enduro beadlocks with 4.5 BS. They rub alot, but they wouldnt if I had not weighed down the front and rear with bumpers. Also these wheels are just slightly more than the AEVs.
