Default wheel spacers

I've been looking into putting wheel spacers on my 96 xj im not looking for anything over an inch. I've noticed there are 2 different kinds of spacers there the ones that bolt on and then there are the ones that slip on my question is which one is better? I know if i want anything over 1inch it will have to be bolted on.

If you're ordering rims anyway, get the ones with the right backspacing. Why add one more thing to go wrong on the vehicle?

I agree. This is best, then no worries about the spacer failing.

Good spacers your looking 200 bucks for all 4 wheels,The cheapo ebay ones will get you hurt.I would spend the 200 on rims that fit the way i want,If the ones you found don't fit right keep looking or talk to the company see how much for a custom set with whatever back spacing you want. Most will do a custom set but once you order them they are yours so double and triple check your measurements,If you want a tool to play with percy's wheelrite is 80 bucks or less and lets you test out any wheel size and backspacing you can dream up.

I've had ebay 1.25" hubcentric spacers on my Jeep for 4 years now with over 15k on them and a good bit of off road use including tight rock trails, no problems. Use locktite and check them when you have a wheel off and rotating tires. Spacers add the same stress on parts as wheels with the same backspacing. Only real issue are people not using hubcentric spacers and user failure to tighten the bolts and use locktite. But I agree, if you're spending the money on new wheels get the right ones, no need to spend more money on it.

I agree if buying new wheels just buy them with the proper BS to begin with. 1 less item on the wheel to ever have a problem with in the future. There are just to many different wheels available for the XJ to not find one you like that is correct for the Jeep.
