Default Wheel Spacer Question

I want to give my jeep a wider look by putting spacers on the wheels. I was thinking like a 1.5'' spacer. Was wondering if they cause any issues and if they are worth it. I have heard that they cause technical problems. Whats your input? Thanks in advance

Wider will usually put more stress on ball joints, bearings, etc. Also you HAVE to make sure you properly install them and torque them down. It's just another point of failure if you don't.

I just installed a set 2'' wheel spacers last weekend. With my TJ Ravine wheels at 5.5''BS and the 2'' spacer I essentially have 3.5'' BS. So its about the same as running most aftermarket wheels(most are 3.75''BS). I love them so far, and no issues yet. Just be sure to torque them correctly, make sure the studs fully engage on the hub with the spacer(I needed longer studs), throw some locktite on the threads, and retorque them a few days after you install them.

As for the extra stress on the hubs, ball joints, bearing, etc. It shouldn't be any different then if you were to run an aftermarket wheel with less BS than the stock Jeep wheels

if you get cheap spacers the quality of machining is sometimes not so good and can give you a shimmy or even contribute to death wobble. I'd make sure they are coming from a good company.
