whats your exhaust system?
My 88 has stock manifold stock down pipe no cat 16in glasspack with about 2ft of 2.5in pipe and a turn down. Quiet at idle and pretty raspy when she gets mashed on. Now my 01 has a Gibson full cat back the 2.5in quiet but throaty at idle sounds good doin down the road no interior noise and not to loud out side and when I step on it u can tell it's there and it sounds as throaty and low as a I6 can without being loud or annoying. But u can def get the same or better results for less money.
2.5" from the down pipe back, magna flow cat, cherry bomb (long / 2.5")

It doesnt matter if you have the sweetest looking, baddest off road trailer queen in the world. If you go play in a public 4x4 park and they (park ranger / state police /local police & etc) decide they want to look your vehicle over, like they do in many parks and see no cat your getting like a $25K fine. At least thats the fine for this area, maybe more or less depending on where you live.
And in some areas, if you are trailer-ing a vehicle you are required to go thru the inspection station, guess what happens then? Hope the title is not in your name and you got proof you just bought it for repairs. So next time you get pulled over, with it on the trailer, just hope the cop is not having a bad day and asks to look at your trailer beauty.
It is illegal and we dont talk about doing removing a cat on any vehicle, regardless of play status, including under repair (unless your asking about performance upgrades)
Understand now?

Well I'm planning on keeping the cat anyways. I was thinking of just getting a flowmaster muffler too but idk if it would be enough. Only wanna spend like 100 at most. For now at least could always add some 2.5 pipes down the road. But idk lots of good ideas here. Except for the stock one. Not enough noise for me

Yeah, its the renix I6. Im pretty happy with it.
I was thinking about mod the manifold to make 3pipes to 1 - so I can run true duals but after much debate decided it would be a waste of time. And could spend my money better elsewhere.
It took me forever to decide between the 40 and the 44.
I watched like a hundred youtube videos between the two on Jeep XJs and asked questions based off road noise inside while traveling.
I didnt want to have to crank my speakers til they blew up just to hear my radio or scream at the person next to me over the exhaust.
Its not too loud, has a nice sound to it and when i give it gas it gives me the vroom i want, lol.
I managed to do all this for about $80, including the cost of the 44. So, Im pretty satisfied.
