Lockers get ya into trouble, winches get ya out.

Armor and recovery.

Wheel open/open and learn what you and your rig are capable of, then locker-up.

what for?

if you have to ask what upgrades you need, you probably don't need any upgrades. if you're on the trail and your jeep leaves you wanting more you'll figure out what upgrades in what order you want. quickly

but for rocks, sliders never hurt. tow points are a must. and if you're serious about wheeling start thinking big $$$ axle upgrades

I'd say first off buy yourself a beefy come a long then go with lockers re get etc with a winch last hell if you build it right you'll never need a winch

Have you ever used a come-a-long to recover a rig?
Not just to assist in getting over an obstacle, but to actually perform a self recovery of your own rig or someone else's rig?

If you had you certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

To the OP,
Same goes for using a Hi-Lift as a come-a-long, cuz someone is going to suggest that soon as well.

I have used it many times and I would recommend it to anyone it'll teach you to be more cautious of the situations you get into I've been out in the woods many nights in my old explorer pulling myself out a few feet at a time

Let me clarify that now I use a hi lift as a come a long and have no need for a winch like I said it will make you more cautious which is better in the long run if you wheel your dd you won't dive off into mud pits as often and tear your ride up

If the only thing available is a come-a-long or a faux come-a-long, then by all means us it. But to suggest a come-a-long over a winch is silly. Apples/oranges.

Why be "That Guy" when you can be "The Guy".

The point I was making was build the rig first to the point he'd really need to be in some trouble to need a winch
