I need to replace my cracked exhaust manifold, I want to get a better flowing one, what is everyone using? Also do the ones with the expansion joints work better?

I have a Dorman with expansion joints. I still had to weld on washers so the conical washers would torque flat.

I've not heard great things about Banks either.

I've also used the ones with the bellows on them with good success.

Big thing is good engine and trans mounts.......

I had no issues except one. And this can happen with any of them.

Intake manifold may require some filing. No biggie.

I have run Borla headers and full exhaust on my XJ for 5 years now. Million mile warranty but never had a single issue.

Whatever I end up using, I am going to replace the tranny and motor mounts. Also going to put a flex joint in the down pipe. Cruiser, I'd love to see a pic of your custom downpipe with the two mandrel bends, 45 degrees IIRC ? I've been waiting for over two months for a guy that has a used Banks Revolver. May have to go another route ? I just don't want to do it twice !

I bought one off Amazon for $60 or something, stainless, and a magnet doesn't stick to it.

I wound up having to cut the flange off it and weld a v-band onto it, and I had to grind the RUNNER on the HO intake manifold because it didn't clear.

I said I'd never buy another one of them, but I'm eying them up again.
