so why take a 14 bolt over the d60 in the rear what truck would have a i guessing most 14bolt out of a chevy? and then would have limted slip to?

so d60 front and 14bolt rear

The GM 14bff is much, much, stronger than the D/60 rear axle. My son broke 3 D/60 rears before he upgraded to a 14bff, 3 years now and no problems with the 14bff. The stronger tubes, the larger ring gear, the larger pinion, and the 3 pinion bearings are just some of the things that make the 14bff such a great axle for wheeling.

im running a 35 spline lp60 in the rear but i dont plan on running larger than 37" tires

ok the axles come from army trucks ,6x6 and 4x4s i think canada has a version of ebay search them there if your xj isd also a dd thats gonna change .this black jep is on 2.5 tons just welded the new pearches on the housing made longer steerin arms not sure how the brakes are set up its also stock 231 tc and 4.0 ,the factory gearing is like 638 in the axles

The rockwell axles have 6.72-1 diff ratios. they aren't worth the work unless your running 44+ tires IMO, they are cool for Huge "Mud trucks" and full-size huge rids 44+ tires. but for an XJ its overkill.

imo rockwells are for mud trucks and high hp tube buggies

no such thing as over kill in south florida swamp,this is also sitting on rockwells and 50 inch plus tires

overkill for an xj yes. the uni body is not gonna like all the extra weight and stress from rockwells and huge tires. need a full frame rig for that
