Weird noise with leaf shims

I just installed brand new leaf springs, and I put on some leaf shims. Drove out of the garage, and when turning I heard what sounded like something clipping. Instantly thought it was the driveshaft. Everything looked good, and it appeared to go away as I drove more. I couldn't go very fast, but I think I heard it again when gaining some speed.

I was wondering if shims (or brand new leafs) have to "settle". Could this just be my shaft adjusting to the angle change? I have a custom 33'' or so shaft.

Here's a pic of how the shaft angle looks now.
Someone pointed out that my driveshaft appears to be compressed now. Could that cause any issues?

the shaft could be too long and bottoming out... which is no good. if you had that thing made you made it 2-3" too long.

Yes, it's bottomed out just sitting there. Under droop it's going to push through the t case.

I'm trying to remember how the driveshaft was before the leaf shims today.. I don't recall it always being like that.

This was taken last week when I went from my 6.5 pack to a 3'' bastard pack and shackles.

I guess it looks the same, so maybe this issue wasn't caused by the shims or whatever I did today.

I'm running a hack n tap. Can I trim the slip yoke a bit instead of trimming the driveshaft?

You could trim it a bit but Im not sure if it will be enough slack to safely wheel.

I put the bigger end of the leaf in the front, toward the center of the vehicle. Someone recommended in swap it and put the larger end in then shackle. Could that work?

I also had the axle dropped on the jack. If the jack moved forward and i jacked up and tightened everything, would that cause this issue?

If you had your shaft made for a 6.5" lift it will now be too long for 3.5".
And don't flip your leafs, it would move your axle back like 5" or so

I didn't think about that.. A buddy of mine told me to get it made at like 33", similar to the ZJ.

Can i trim the slip yoke for the same effect? I'm running a hack n tap.

I forgot to mention that I am still at six and a half inches I'm just using a three inch leaf pack with shackles and a relocation kit
