So I've got all stock cooling system on my 97 and I would like it to stay a little cooler when I'm sitting in traffic. Right now it creeps up to about 220 and I have a new water pump, new heater core, and both fans work. I'd like to go with all electric fans and a better radiator. Any suggestions??

Mine was like that till I changed the t stat. Now its fine till it sits for more than a couple minutes. I thought it was gonna overheat in the McD's drive thru today

swap the t-stat
180 for summer 195 for winter.
the 180 will allow coolant to start flowing sooner which should keep it cooler
also new radiator wont hurt. getting a nice performance one even better.
Hood spacer and hood louvers also make a biggg difference.
i put 1"x1" tubing for hood spacers under the hood mounts and when im at a stop light on a hot day i can see the heat waves coming out of the gap.

go with an all metal CSF radiator. 2 or 3 row works fine. I'm running the 2 row and can idle all day in traffic and never go above 210. i also have my fan on a switch just so i know its on for sure.

more cooling surface area and will last longer I believe
it's just the fan clutch. it transfers more force into the fan instead of allowing it to slip. in other words more fan power more air flow. pt# 272310 it's $40

if you've got a clean and well running system you wont really have a need for electric fans.. worst comes to worst you just cut a hole and put in a vent or two
