WARN XD900i solenoid??
Seems I have a bad solenoid in my winch... won't reel in unless I jump the last solenoid to the right... The Amazonian has them for about $16.00 shipped.... should I stick with that or is there a cheaper alternative?
just curious.... ya know how these things go.... 16 bucks aint bad..... until you find out there was a 5 dollar alternative...
thanks all.
a few pics
PS
"made in USA" I was proud to see that..... not sure the replacement will bear the same stamp.....

$16!?
I'd be on that immediately if it's a like-for-like.
Winch solenoid packs (controllers), aren't cheap.
For $16, I'd honest order at least two.
Never know when another might die (at the most inopportune moment of course), or someone else might need one.

The biggest thing is making SURE they're rated properly. I'm hesitant on many solenoids like that without knowing more on them.
You'll see typically solenoids like that, that aren't rated for constant duty, but quick momentary actions (think glow plugs on 7.3L vs. constant pulling with the winch).
They'll look pretty much the same, but are pretty well different. As you might guess, one won't last long under constant use.
There's been at least several threads on Pirate discussing these, due to expense of solenoids (they were around $40-$50 each).
However, many winches have gone away from solenoids, and moved to contactors. Do the same thing, but better, and are cheaper and smaller.

Looks like you might have found some.
Yeah, I knew per single. If you were to call up Warn, I bet those would be a bit...more
