Default wanting to build my own long arms

Starting with a stock 95 xj. Going to end up with about 5 inches of lift give or take. I have some 1.5 square tubing quarter inch wall. Wanting to base my kit off of clayton design. Also have quarter inch flat metal for cross member . Does anyone have any tips or helpful advice.

Pirate4x4 got some good articles on homemade long arms. With geometry and tips, etc.

And have a good welder handy too. Those HF machines won't just cut it.

Yeah I have a good Lincoln on hand. I'll jump over to pirate and check it out. Most people would just link it but I'm going to drive it on the road also.

actually yeah they will. I thought the same thing till I started laying down some beads with one. not as bad as you'd think. it was whichever one is the larger one they sell (220 mig?)

making long arms is cake. use 2" quarter wall for the links. just make your cross member/mounts and measure twice for link length then cut and weld. use a bushing on one end of each link. done

theres nothing wrong with linking it and driving on the road. I drive my 3 link at 70-80mph through the sierra nevadas. it's a way better design than radius arms
