I've done the small block swap but made my motor mounts since the kit for it was blood money. Been driving this for 2 years now.

There is a kit for the 4.3 so the bolt in shouldn't be a issue. The electronics on the other hand make things interesting. Nothing is impossible.

Its not worth it. Go back to the drawing board and shoot for something else. the 4.0 by itself walks all over the 4.3 with small mods.

It's yours. Do what you want with it. If I had a dime for everyone touting the 4.0 over everything else, I would have a boatload of dimes. You don't know until you explore.

Buddy did it in a YJ Islander a couple years back. Was great for him & ran great. Computer was out of a Ford van, he had to get some adapters to marry up the tranny to the NP231. Besides things like that he loved it.

As someone that has owned a 4x4 blazer the 4.3 is kinda gutless. For the price you might as well go ls family in it.The 4bt is 700 lbs same as a big block and aint cheap to buy anymore.

And not to mention with that kind of weight and power it would rip your frame rails in half without stiffeners/ reinforcement. If your dead set on a swap then V8 ls swap all the way. Look up serious offroad's swap it's probably the most in-depth for the 5.3L

But it takes a lot of work and fab skill that most people aren't willing or able to do. If you want more power out of your 4.0l then look up doing a stroker, it gives you a bit more power and drops right back in it also requires no other modifications from stock besides higher flowing injectors. And if that power isn't enough for you then you can always throw on a supercharger and have it tuned.

The jeeps 4.0 is like 515 lbs the ls 5.3 is about 500 lbs fully dressed. So the swap won't make the jeep anymore nose heavy then it already is.If your a hard core off roader weight balance does matter some.
