my oil pressure is just like that and I have no problems, it stays around 20 at idle, goes up at higher rpms then back down again and about that engine noise I have no idea

Well oil pressure is caused by the clearances between your bearings the bigger they are the less oil pressure. That's at least what my buddie told me. Now the ticking sometimes it's a jeep thing but I had the same click an turns out a piston shattered an destroyed the motor. Also your number one problem is fram filters are junk. But I'm not a mechanic, but this is my .02

does it do it all the time? mine goes through phases when it does it and sometimes i dont hear it for a couple of weeks, id ditch the filter for sure. the last oil change i added some lucas to the oil and that seemed to tame it down quite a bit. just monitor it and drive it. i wouldnt worry to much about it

Get that Fram filter off of there and check the flexplate for cracks.

oil pressure spec is minimum 13 psi at hot idle, 37 plus above 1600.

i noticed that youre oil pressure didnt respond quickly as the rpms rose. that sounds like possible bad camshaft for the ticking, cant really tell with the vid. what is the oil pressure when its hot, been driving around for 15 20 minutes after reaching 210? change that filter frams are junk.... known for causing oil pressure issues.

noticed that the engine was cold with the video. you need to verify with a mechanical gauge what youre oil pressure is.

my 97 with 160000 has 55 psi at idle cold. 22 when hot. that reading has me concerned with youres being 18psi cold.

There are some concerns here that you really need to check into. The head on your vehicle is prone to cracking, causing coolant to leak into the oil, and then doing damage to all the bearings. I thought I heard in the video that you just bought this, is that correct? It's possible that the PO knew about this problem and tried to hide if from you to get the vehicle sold. Probably would be worth it to pop off the valve cover and start looking for signs of a crack between #3 and #4 cylinder. Maybe also have the oil analyzed.

Oil pressure isn't too far off the mark of where it should be, but with the noise and the high rate of failure of the 0331 head, I'd be giving it some serious consideration. If you catch the problem soon enough you may be able to save the rest of the engine.

Get rid of the Fram filter and replace it with a Wix or Napa Gold. Don't change the oil again if it was changed recently. Just change filters and report back.

The filter change alone fixed by buddy's Wrangler two months ago and I'm sure others here could chime in about their bad experiences with Fram. Not a stone to be left unturned.

Ok I'm gonna switch out the Fram, but it has 5w30 in it, I may put in 10w 40 while I'm at it.

My pressure sits at 0-10 or so when hot, which is my real concern.

Thought about putting in a high volume pump but heard mixed reviews that they don't fit.

And yes I did just buy it. W/in 50 miles this started to be an issue.

When it is cold, it would take at least 2 crank to start = this.
I would suspect the fuel pressure regulator (need to drop the gas tank to access it, if it doesn't bother you, no need to replace it for now).

Good call on the Fram filter.

Ticking noise = Jeep
Many time due to sticky lifter due to carbon build up.
I would suggest doing an oil change with 5qt of 10w30 and 1qt of MMO and run it for about 500 miles (that might clean up the carbon build up)
I would also check the flex plate bolts, they have a tendency of becoming loose.

Since this is your "new" jeep, i would also do a compression or a leak down test to check the overall condition of the truck.

Oh, ifaik, you get a more accurate reading on your oil pressure when the engine is at its running temp....hopefully, oil filter and oil change would fix that problem (not really a problem, just seem a little on the low side).

These are just my humble opinion, take with a gain of salt and GL.

Btw, welcome.

A new oil pump will not fix low oil pressure if the bearings are shot.

if you hook up the mechanical gauge and pressure drops below 13 psi at idle and below 37 psi above 1600 rpms you got some worn bearings, try changing that filter first.
