VIBE AFTER SYE
I have a 99 XJ W/ 2" RUSTYS lift. I used a t/c drop for year ,then decided to go for the SYE W/ a 98 XJ front shaft wich i had rebuilt. My xj seems to get a low rumble around 60 to 70 mph.I DIDNT GET THE NEW FRONT SHAFT BALANCED .COULD THIS BE MY PROBLEM?
the other shaft shouldnt need to get rebalanced. If its bent or some reason that would cause it to become unbalanced then it probably needs to get replaced. definitely check the length, with only a 2" lift its not unlikely that the shaft is too long
If the shaft was really that out of whack, I think you'd feel some vibration consistently... probably getting worse as you increased speed.
While the SYE is definitely the preferred way to go, it's not always just an immediate fix. You should still check your driveline angles to see if you need to make any fine tuning(shims).

Didnt think 2" lift would give me many problems.SHOULD of GONE W/ 96 xj and earlier. Friend just sold mint 96 w107,000 not a scracth on it for 3500.00. Best maintained jeep ive ever seen. At least a buddy bought it.

I had a '99 w/ 3.5" without problems. There's also stories of 5"+ who didn't have to go SYE.
At 2", I doubt the shaft would be too far extended.
