Default Urgent...problems with installing lift

Hey ive decided to install my rough country 4.5 long arm kit this weekend on my 01 xj and ive started the rear so far and ran into some problems. Ive cleaned the whole underside of my xj and pb blastered it for a week straight. everythings off in the rear except the front leaf bolts. The one i broke loose and and it backed out just about all the way but seems to be stuck on something on the very end. Any one have an idea how i should go about this? the other one i just couldnt budge i dont have any air tools so i was using a 12 inch breaker bar and a piece of pipe so i soaked it again and gonna give it another shot tomorrow. And also the top mounts to the shocks all snapped right off..i heated them up too. Should i try to drill through the and tap them? sorry if these are noob questions this is my first left? Any help is aprecciated

For the front, I had to pry on the bolt with a wonder/pry-bar while turning it out.+ lots of lube. Easier if you have a friend. You could also try putting some more pressure on the leaf spring to try and take some off the bolt.

Here is one for your shock bolts. Many different solutions. It happens alot

I basically followed this (pictures included)

Stick a torch back in there and heat the weld nut up, it will expand and loosen its grasp on the bolt.

Or borrow a compressor and impact.

I had the same problem and went through the same steps. the bushing melts and grabs the bolt so you can't slide it out even though its not threaded in the nut anymore. I ended up cutting on both sides until it dropped out.

Now assuming you're re-using the old bolts like i was there's more.. The bolts from the rear of the springs are threaded the same as the front so you can use those in the front and then just get new ones for the back. they can be any thread style as long as they're the same size and get nuts that fit the new ones.

hope that gives you another option

Best of luck.

The bolt is seized to the bushing sleeve.

This is how i did mine
a)Heat weld nut
b)With a breaker bar, i was able to break free the rust freeze
c)PB blast weld nut/bolt
d)Tighten bolt
e)Loosen bolt
f)repeat c - e until a good enough area between spring and frame is exposed
g)torch spring bushing and let it burn

h)Scraped off burned bushing
i)Grip sleeve with a good vise grip (my cheapo HF was good enough after some bruised palm)

j)Repeat c - e

Rear Shock Mount Snap bolt fix.
