Angry Upgraded Headlight Harness Eautoworks problems???

So I found this post here...

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/he...roblems-86711/

It sounds exactly what is happening to me. Installed the harness, now I turn the lights on, fine. Hit the brights, then only high beams come on. Then turning OFF the brights, BOTH high/low come on. Then I can't turn the brights off without turning off the headlights all the way.

Sound familiar to anyone? Just want to make sure before I start cutting wires on my new harness.

Interested to see what the issue is. I bought one last week, but still havent seen it here yet. Nor heard back from eautoworks.

Let us know whtas what. I know a common problem is people not running a good ground. A lot of people are saying to run the ground directly to the battery.

sounds like a junky relay. i have the painless performance harness, its top quality except the light sockets are large and rub the header panel. a few smacks with a bfh to put a dent in the panel for clearence, now its all good. and yes, run the ground to the battery.

That happened to me when I put mine in. For me it was an issue with the factory fog lights. For some reason they still have a current running through them which tricks the relay on the harness into staying on. I just unplugged the fog light relay and everything worked fine. The research that I did said it was an issue with 99's but it could be 98 and 99's.

Did that eliminate your fog lights?

Yeah, but thats fine with me because they didn't work anyways. The switch was bad and they want way to much money for it.
