Default Upgraded front driveshaft joints

So im going to be setting up my SYE soon and I need to know if there is anything special I need to do as far as the driveshaft. Im going to get a front from ebay but I was wondering if I should buy heavy duty Ujoints to replace the stock ones? If i should get new ones where would be the best place to buy them from? Also does the front fit it the rear perfect? or do you have to cut it or lengthen it to fit? One more thing I read something about shimming the rear axle or something, do I need to do this.....even then i dont know what that means lol.

wether or not you need to shim all depends on where your pinion angle ends up. some leaf packs have shims built in already. What a shim is is just a wedge between your leaf packs and axle that changes the angle of the pinion. you want it typically pointing toward your t-case when under load. as far as length, it's a telescopic driveshaft basically. That's the point, you're making it so the shaft lengthens and shortens like the front (replacing it with a front) instead of the yolk "slipping" in and out of the transfer case and often losing fluid. I've heard with higher lifts the grand cherokee fronts reach a little farther for you.

drive shaft length depends on your lift ,stronger u joints are good but it cheaper to fix broken u stock joint than axles and ring and pinions JM2CW
