spicers and be done with it. They have a great tool on thier website. You input your vehicle specs, and it tells you EXACTLY what joint you need and where it goes, and sell box em all up and mail em to ya.
Whoever spells it Tomatoe is also silly.

I also agree that spicer's are the way to go. Run them on the race car and on the jeep, no issues.

I've heard many say the non greaseable ones are stronger and can agree with that theory but, for the majority of us that are not rock crawling with 39s...the greaseable ones will last a lot longer with frequent greasing. IMHO!!!!!

I could see that. If the non greasable ones don't have the pathways for grease machined/cast into them. Ive never compared them side to side, makes sense though.

You can somewhat service the non-greasable ones if you pull the caps and give the needle bearings a little lubrication. Thats what we do on the race car before install and they last a long time. I prefer a moly grease, you can look up the benefits of molybdenum disulfide if you're bored and have nothing else to do. Lol

thanks for bringing this thread back to life. i wanted to comment back then, but figured i would just add fuel to the fire.

anyhow, i usually get moog, but spicer is good too.
i go non greasable, only because i tend to break the cross section before the grease dries up and go on the theory that non greasable has a stronger mid section due to no grease channel.

other than that, go with greasable and keep them full of clean grease.

i can change an axle u joint on the trail in about a half hour, if the ears don't break off when the joint snaps, otherwise, i just throw in a spare shaft.

driveshaft u joint, even quicker. helps when you've done a million. lol

HAHA. At least I had it on an LP. My 69 A108 Dodge van had a Realistic 8 Track player in it. Had Aerosmith's Toys in the Attic.

WOW.......learn something new every day.....

Been working on cars/trucks for over 45 yrs, and I have NEVER heard of a wheel joint, nor seen it listed that way in any manual or parts book.

It's an axle shaft u-joint.

Calling it a wheel joint is about as correct as saying the front & rear dana 44 axles I have sitting in my garage are a matched set of rears.

My cherokee has a front rear and a rear rear...as opposed to a front axle & a rear axle per some folks.

Moral to the story, just because you call it a wheel joint doesn't mean that's what it is to anyone else.
