Not to hijack the thread and I am sure I could just do a web search for the answer (But then we wouldn't have any fun interacting with each other) but..What's the difference between "turbo charged" and "super charged"?

no. but i will. i also have to brush up on dcr and scr. so ill get back to ya on that. you prolly know more about than i do.lol
but i will say keep it simple. dont boost urself out of your cam. make sure your cam, pistons, intake and crank all match to your boost psi specs. also your torq converter and rear gears. its all connected.
so make sure you know what boost you want to run and build it to that range.

I'm kinda partial to supercharged 4.0L!
$4,000 will get you a Sprintex supercharger tuned ready to install. It keeps the stock computer and OBD.
Stroker might seem cheaper but most are having a hard time tuning them.
Engine swaps will have more 'hidden' problems than they are worth.
Nitrous, now that's cheap power.
Turbos, buying the turbo is the cheap part, it gets expensive fast, near $4-5,000.

Ok I am going to give you a plan that is crude but will work if you are careful.
buy a holset 35 used, or a new ebay 'GT35'
buy an intercooler
buy some silcone joints
buy some charge piping
get and bov and waste gate (if your turbo does not have one)
get a boost controler
get some 30 lbs or larger injectors, USED
tap off the oil pressure gauge feed and feed that to the turbo, then dump it back into the oil pan
move the battery to the other side or into the cargo area
make a pipe that comes up from the stock exhaust manifold and comes up to where the battery used to be, mount the turbo to that pipe
make a pipe that comes out of the turbo and is 2.5-3", then make your full exhaust pipe, if your turbo does not have a built in waste gate you will need to add on at this point and you can either dump it back out the exhaust or into the air... your call
then get a rising rate fuel pressure regulator that has an adjustable base pressure set it really low at idle and let it climb as it goes
then add a walbro 255 or better fuel pump
mount your intercooler were you want it, and hook up the charge piping from the turbo to the intercooler, then intercooler to the throttle body, also you need to install the blow off valve in there near the throttle body seems to work well, but it's not too critical so long as it's in there
from there you can adjust everything and do it the old fashion way, by reading the plugs, then putting in a new set and doing it again and again until the plugs look right
also I would run a step or 2 colder on the plugs for good measure
this wont be right, but it will work, and if you are careful on the setup it should work decently

oh yeah and header wrap, LOTS of header wrap, not only does it make you look cool and RAW, but it makes your engine bay a lot cooler temp wise
it might make more sense to put the turbo on the drivers side, just thinking out loud here

Im sure this has been said but i dont feel like reading an entire turbo thread, just regear the thing. It will cost alot less, you wont have to sacrifice reliability and it will just be much easier. Turbos really are not worth it on a jeep

There is a turbo Jeep Cherokee running around this forum. JakeWI sold his XJ, then THAT guy sold it to a forum member here.
That 3rd owner did a back yard turbo install. He posted about it here.
Ppearson? I don't remember exactly, but its something like that. And the Jeep is/or was orange I think.
Either way, home brew setups can be done, and done reasonably priced. You just REALLY gotta know what your doing, and have the time to do it. And, prolly have a back up vehicle...just in case.

you can get a brand new goodwrench 350cc chevy small bock for $1500. It gets about 300hp as is and with some mods you can get alot more. If i really wanted power thats the route i would go. But in alot of ccases just regearing answers power problems
