Just a personal experience I'm running a rough country 12k winch for past year and absolutely love it and have had no issue with it but to each there own either one u buy will work and surely have a warranty with it if there are issues so I say what ever one u wanna spend the money on

Well, I'll be your guinea pig... I ordered one of the Quadratec winches and was immediately called by a rep. Told me that they were on back order but that they had some that had a bit of paint rubbed off. I figured that the first time I used it I would probably scratch it worse than it was. I got $50 or so bucks off and a $25 gift card. In the end, I got the 11,000 lb for nearly the same price as the 9,000 lb.
It arrived today, I unpacked it and try as I might I couldn't see where any of the paint had been rubbed.
As far as the color, I thought it was pretty ugly too and had planned to paint it but it wasn't bad at all, I think the lighting was kookie when they took their pictures.
I'm just getting ready to start putting a major build on my jeep and as soon as I get out in the rocks, I'll test it out and let you all know how it does...
