Fuel starvation on hill climbs
Anyone else having an issue with this. I have an 89 xj 4.0 3.5" RE lift. I'm having issues even when I'm at near a full tank. While climbing and descending steep grades. The truck doesn't die just starves and sputters.
Any mods guys are doing to prevent this. Im not lazy or an idiot so if you have something proven that works shoot I to me I need a fix!

Perform a fuel pressure test. Possibly the hose between the pump and mounting plate is deteriorated.

K I'll check it out this morning. I do know the PO had a new pump installed around 8 months ago at a local shop. But it's worth a shot for sure. I'll let u know what I come up with.

Psi is 30-33 at idle that's assuming the gauge is accurate, so that what I got so far gonna look into dropping the tank see if I have a bad screen or some junk in the mucking about when I'm climbing.

Are u certain that it's a fuel delivery problem? My 95 was missing and sputtering when climbing a grade. Turned out to be a bad ignition coil. Just a thought.

But in his original post he said it happened on descending grades, too.
I think it's time to have a look-see into the tank.

Yeah I may drop it tomorrow. But I'm not sure. I'm feeling a bit lazy lmao. And yes the issue comes up when in a climb or descent. Coil was replace in the power pack I purchased just about a month and a half ago.
