Tricky bolt/nut removal: Tips and Hints
I'm moving a ghetto-rigged lift -- Tuff Country fixed lower control arms and springs, Teraflex budget boosters, and no idea what brand leaf spring relocation shackles -- from my beat up 1990 xj over to my nice rust free 1992 xj, but I've run into a little snag that's proving to be a huge pain. I'm removing everything from the 1992 -- front and rear axles and all suspension out of jeep -- so I can clean it all up and spray it black; however, the front bolt on the right leaf spring was so rusted into the nut that when I went to break them loose from each other, I ended up getting them a bit loose then the nut broke free from the welds on the inside of the 'frame.' Now it's just spinning around, loose, inside and I can't get the leaf off or tightened back down. Same issue with the top bolt on the shackle of the other jeep, so I can't get the shackle free to move to the other jeep. Anyone ever come across this before, and if so, how do you remedy the situation? I can post pictures if you need me to.

Yeah, that sucks. Both my rear shackle bolts were seized, finally managed to break the weld nuts. Took a sawzall and a few blades per shackle, I had to cut on both sides of the shackle in order to get it out, (bolt was also seized to the bushing sleeve.)
Sawzall is probably your best bet, just don't use a lot of pressure.

when i broke the weld on the nut for the front bolt on the leaf i just took a grinder and a cut off wheel and cut the bottom of the box that the nut is in off and put a wrench on it (23mm i think) and turned to bolt out. boom done deal
