If I mount a secondary transmission fluid cooler to my hood, would the transmission have any trouble pushing fluid to that height or would the siphon be sufficient to assist? It is mounting behind a Lumina Z34 hood vent and flex-a-lite cooling fan. Since I don't want the hoses and wires hanging from my hood, they'll have to run back to the firewall first so the fluid will have to travel through about 12 feet of hose.

Tranny pressure should be fine. Obviously more fluid is needed, but the weight of that new fluid would help the ciphon. Shouldn't be a problem.

I would probably go with slightly larger lines, say 3/8s. Do NOT use right angle fittings. I dont remember where but I read that 1 right angle is the same as 10 running feet of pipe. Keep the bends as wide as you can. So if possible run the lines up from the passenger side, then cross over to the cooler on the drivers side. That will avoid a 90 at the firewall to the hood junction. Instead you would have 3 30 degree bends.
YMMV
