If you google anything you'll find an answer that says something is bad more often than not... doesn't mean its right. Experience speaks volume over Google any day and plenty of old school guys would probably laugh at what too many people build these days and think its right or cool.

And from what I've also learned, old school guys can sometimes be THE worst source of remotely intellectual information for things these days. I give a lot of respect to them and know a whole fawk ton, but the things I've heard come out of many an old school person's mouth has made me laugh.
I swear if I hear how Carb's are superior to EFI, or how stainless steel is stronger than mild steel, and on and on...I'm just going to start walking away.
I think I'll go see if I can't find a set of revolver shackles to put on somehow now...

You also need to keep the whole package, axle, shims, leafs, tightly bound together. I found double nutting the u bolts keeps things tight.
My setup has survived lots of Utah & Colorado trails, plus the 400 mile drives to get there.
I agree with this. A SYE/CV eliminates harmonics at the T case end. Use axle shims to get the diff angle matching the driveshaft angle. Together these two will solve vibration issues.

I will be adding an sye one way or another, new mounts again, rear D'S, and maybe axle shims.
