shims or t case drop?
With my 2 inch aal and coil spacers I'm getting some pretty good drive line vibes and am trying to figure out the best CHEAPEST way to correct it I know a tcase drop would work but that will be hard on the motor mounts and a serious pain in the a$$ to install thanks to previous owner. Ive also been reading up on axle shims which are extremely cheap and dosent effect ground clearance. The trouble is ive been getting some contradicting info on them. Some people are say it solved their problem with the same lift as me but others are saying your only supposed to use them with a sye cv joint axle. So any help on this would be great

Wow bad vibes with a 2 inch lift. What year do u have. Anyway abundant sounds the way to go but its really all about drive shaft angle. When u did the lift did u get an alignment. I had a 4.5 lift with very little vibes. Look at your rear pinion is it pointed directly at slip yoke. There are different degree shims varying angles. Pics r always helpful.

Its 2001 so its more prone to vibes with smaller lifts unlike 96 and below. The u joints are a month old and i did the alighment myself in my shop class and the toe was off but didint changing anything after correcting

I put the new u joints on after the lift and the vibes stayed the same, theres no way its the u joints. So back to my original questions, do shims take the place of a t-case drop?

4 bolts (unless yours is stock, you would required to remove 2 studs) for TC drop and 8 ubolt nuts, 4 DS bolts and 2 leaf springs center pins nuts....you do the math.
Cost around $30 for both tho.

before you just go throwing shims in there you should check your pinion angle that will tell you if you even need shims. just google how to set pinion angle on a one piece drive shaft like you got. now if you had a sye then ya you could put shims because you want the pinion to point at the transfer case when your using a double cardan driveline. regular drivelines arent the same.
